New Video: Drone Spa - Episode 5 Part 1: “Charging Port”
Hey, RubberZone.com Member –
When drones need a recharge, they emulate the patterns of their human controllers: Check in to a spa.
In particular, a Drone Spa - a facility dedicated to drone maintenance, programming, and upgrades.

All rubber drones come equipped with a charging port at the rear of the unit, where the chrome-plated,
stainless steel Primary Electrode Node ("PEN") must be deeply and securely positioned.

In this video, we see an apparatus for securing a drone so that involuntary movement during
charging and programming will not cause interruption to the procedure. The drone's boots are strapped tightly
to the base, so that the drone does not rise off the platform as the PEN is inserted.

The PEN is attached to a piston and crank, which is slowly raised into the drone's charging port,
until it is firmly seated. Now, the drone has three points of contact with the apparatus,
and will not wander off if there are glitches in its programming.

This particular drone is in for a "deep recharge" - in addition to adding fresh power,
its reserve energy will be fully drained in order to facilitate extended battery life. This is
accomplished by putting the drone in "recycle mode", reusing its exhaust gasses in a rebreathing loop,
to reduce energy usage, and by supply CPU-enhancing gases via an inlet hose.
Soon, the drone will be lost in a dizzying array of stimuli, and the spa technician will monitor
its responses and adjust the procedure, and the PEN, accordingly.
